Why Some Foods Make You Full and Others Don’t

Whole foods work differently than processed foods made primarily from refined flour, added sugar, added salt, and added fats.

Foods high in fiber and water stretch stomach receptors, trigger fullness signals, and slow digestion.

This helps you recognize when you’ve eaten enough.

Highly processed foods bypass many of these signals.

When food quality improves, it becomes easier to consume less calories without feeling hungry.

Tomorrow, try and swap a snack food you would normally eat for fruit with an equal amount of calories.

Pay attention to your hunger as you eat.
