About Keith A. Herman

Keith helps people improve their physical and mental well-being using evidence-based tools and systems—not trends, willpower, or motivation.

He is a private wealth planning attorney. His work focuses on analyzing complex information, identifying what actually matters, and turning it into practical guidance. He has expanded that same analytical approach from wealth planning to health planning, bringing clarity to health, nutrition, and behavior change.

In this short video, Keith explains why he doesn’t call himself a nutrition expert—and why he created the Expert Diet Project to help people stop getting misled by headlines.

In researching the healthiest ways to eat, Keith reviewed thousands of studies on nutrition and behavior change, along with national and global nutrition guidelines and the science behind them. His goal was to understand why healthy eating so often fails, and what actually makes changes stick.

That work led to Eat Like an Expert, a science-backed guide to eating a plant-based diet, based on what the leading experts recommend—and how to turn those recommendations into habits that stick.

Putting the Work Into Practice

That same body of work also led to the development of IDEAL-Goals, a system designed to replace SMART goals. SMART goals were created to clarify objectives for employees, not to change deeply ingrained health behaviors.

It also led to the creation of The Health & Well-Being Journal, a guided daily practice that supports physical and mental well-being through planning, reflection, and habit tracking, without relying on motivation, discipline, or perfection.

Keith is also the founder of the Expert Diet Project, which helps people cut through diet confusion by learning how to eat based on expert guidance rather than headlines.
